Welcome to The Federation.  This network was designed by Spyder Man
and egghead in order to create a new style of Fido-compatible network
with fewer nodes and more quality.  In order to maintain quality, the
network will be limited to around 30-40 boards maximum, and we hope that
all nodes will contribute, so that there will be no weak links in the
network.  All sysops must be sure that no crap posts come through from
their system, so that The Federation avoids the lack of quality that
plagues other networks.
  The Federation is an art-based network, with intelligent h/p discussion
bases as well.  We will try to keep the bases to a minimum, to encourage
posting in all bases, so that there will be no dead bases.
  To reduce network delays, all boards in the Eastern Region will poll
The Web at 38:100/1, and all the other boards will poll the Western Region
Hub, Infinite Ragnarok 38:200/1.  Infinite Ragnarok will poll The Web 
everyday, so there will not be much lag on the message traffic.
  Feel free to spread the word about The Federation, and encourage any
quality boards to contact The Web if they're interested in joining the
network.  There are no concrete area code limits, but there is a definite
quality of standard that should be met by any board wanting to join the
network.
