TEXTFILES.COM has been running for about 8 years now, providing all
sorts of insane textfiles, BBS-era artifacts, and what have you. We never include
ads, pop-ups or other guff. We don't limit access, and we don't make you jump
through a bunch of hoops to get to "the stuff". It's always there, and always will
be as long as Jason Scott's running the place, which he intends to for quite some
time.
From 2001-2005, Jason worked on a massive documentary about dial-up Bulletin Boards
called BBS: The Documentary. It's great
stuff, and it's creative commons attribution-sharealike licensed, which means, basically,
you can copy and share it with people. This is why I don't feel so bad mentioning it,
even though it's for sale. Download a copy from the usual torrent sites to check it
out, and consider grabbing a DVD set
for yourself or your family. I'm really proud of the thing, and that's no April Fool.
